With over 10 years of social work experience, including the last 8 years dedicated to teaching and individual therapy, I have had the privilege of supporting numerous individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds. My work has encompassed addressing trauma, relationship concerns, and prenatal and postpartum support. I am experienced in helping individuals with depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, emotional regulation, and mood disorders, among many other concerns.

My fundamental belief lies in empowering individuals and couples to forge meaningful and lasting transformations in their lives. Drawing upon my extensive clinical experience in various settings and with diverse populations, I offer a distinctive and personalized approach to navigating life's challenges. I place great importance on fostering genuine connections, using humour and providing a secure environment that encourages collaborative exploration of obstacles and facilitates transformative change.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to create meaningful and lasting change in their lives. I work with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, helping them navigate challenges, build resilience, and strengthen connections with themselves and others. My practice is guided by client-directed, strengths-based, trauma-informed, anti-racism and anti-oppression, feminist, and structural frameworks. I aim to foster authentic, supportive relationships in therapy, creating a safe space where clients can explore obstacles, uncover insights, and work toward transformation at a pace that feels right for them.

I adopt a holistic approach to wellness and draw from a rich toolkit that includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based modalities. I also provide couples counselling through a trauma-informed, attachment-oriented lens, supporting partners in understanding relational patterns, improving communication, deepening emotional connection, and navigating challenges collaboratively. I have extensive experience supporting individuals affected by sexual and domestic violence, as well as those exploring identity, sexuality, and relationship diversity. Across all work, I emphasize the importance of trust, safety, and genuine therapeutic connection.

Over the course of my career, I have served as a clinician, supervisor, and educator at Carleton University's School of Social Work. I am passionate about trauma-focused care and deeply committed to supporting queer and trans communities, including advocating for access to medical and social transition supports. I accompany clients on their unique journeys, offering guidance, support, and validation throughout their experiences.

In addition to my clinical work, I have served as a supervisor and mentor to emerging therapists, strengthening my understanding of therapeutic practice and enhancing my ability to support clients effectively. I prioritize ethical practice, professional growth, and staying current with research to provide the highest quality care.

Above all, my goal is to create a compassionate, inclusive, and safe space where individuals and couples can explore, grow, and flourish. I am dedicated to supporting clients in overcoming challenges, fostering connection, and building the skills and insights to thrive in their lives and relationships.
