With over 10 years of social work experience, including the last 8 years dedicated to teaching and individual therapy, I have had the privilege of supporting numerous individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds. My work has encompassed addressing trauma related to family dynamics, relationships, and significant life events, as well as assisting individuals with depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, emotional regulation, and mood disorders, among other concerns.

My fundamental belief lies in empowering individuals to forge meaningful and lasting transformations in their lives. Drawing upon my extensive clinical experience in various settings and with diverse populations, I offer a distinctive and personalized approach to navigating life's challenges. I place great importance on fostering genuine connections and providing a secure environment that encourages collaborative exploration of obstacles and facilitates transformative change.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that empowering individuals to achieve meaningful and enduring transformations is essential. My values of client-directed, strengths perspective, trauma-informed, anti-racism & anti-oppression, feminist and structural frameworks are key foundations to all my work. Leveraging my extensive clinical experience across diverse settings and populations, I offer a distinctive and personalized method for navigating life's challenges. My emphasis on building authentic connections and providing a secure environment fosters collaborative exploration of obstacles, enabling transformative change to take place.

I adopt a holistic approach to wellness and trauma-informed techniques, drawing from a rich toolkit that includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based treatments. Particularly, I bring years of experience in supporting individuals affected by sexual and domestic violence, and I possess specialized training in understanding and fostering genuine connections and therapeutic rapport – vital components of my work with clients.

Over the course of my career, I have served as a clinician, supervisor, and educator at Carleton University's School of Social Work. My passion lies in trauma-focused care, and I am deeply committed to working with and supporting queer and trans communities. I have been an advocate for advancing medical and social transition supports for trans and non-binary individuals within my community, accompanying many individuals on their unique journeys both therapeutically and personally.

In addition to my role as a clinician, I have also served as a clinical supervisor, guiding and mentoring aspiring therapists in their professional growth. This experience has deepened my understanding of the intricacies of therapeutic practice and enhanced my ability to support clients effectively. I am committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical practice and staying abreast of the latest research and developments in the field to ensure the best possible care for those I work with.

Above all, my foremost goal is to provide a safe and compassionate space where people can freely explore and grow, empowering them to overcome challenges and flourish. Whether as a therapist or a clinical supervisor, I am dedicated to fostering the professional development and well-being of those I work with, while maintaining a strong commitment to ethical practice and the highest quality of care.
